What it does
While Lovable builds, its chat can read your Brands and tokens and export them (for example as CSS or Tailwind), so the app uses your real tokens. It can also propose token changes for a person to approve. The tools are listed at /docs/mcp.
Before you start
- A Stoaken account with at least Viewer on a Brand. On the Free plan agents are read only.
- A Lovable account (custom MCP servers are on every plan, unless a workspace admin turned them off).
- Optional: an API key from Settings > API keys (for Bearer token auth).
Setup
Lovable adds MCP servers in its own UI; there is no project file. npx stoaken init --client lovable just prints these steps.
- Open Connectors, choose Add custom > MCP server.
- Server name
Stoaken, Server URLhttps://www.stoaken.com/mcp. - Authentication: OAuth (the default), then Add & authorize and sign in. Or Bearer token with your API key, then Add server.
Configuration
Nothing to write. The connection is personal: teammates add Stoaken with their own sign-in. Keep Direct connection; Stoaken is on the public internet, so static IPs aren't needed.
Try it
- "Using the Stoaken connector, get the resolved tokens for the Default theme and build a pricing card with them."
- "Export my Default theme as CSS variables and use them in this project."
Troubleshooting
- MCP server is greyed out: a workspace admin disabled custom MCP servers.
- OAuth fails: remove the connector and add it again with Bearer token and an API key.
Limits
- No tool approves or publishes a release.
- Chat connectors only give Lovable context while building; the app it publishes can't call Stoaken. Export the tokens into the app's code instead.
