How do I

Change a colour and get it approved

The everyday flow, from editing a value to it being live in your products.

Start to finish

  1. Open Tokens, pick the Brand and the token set the colour lives in.
  2. Click the colour. Change it in the inspector, or drag its dot in Specimen to make it lighter or darker.
  3. Check Needs a look on the right: Stoaken warns you if a text and background pair no longer has enough contrast.
  4. Press Save in the tray at the bottom.
  5. Press Propose a release (in the tray, or on Overview). Pick Patch for a nudged value.
  6. A reviewer approves it in the Command Center, after seeing the change, what it reaches and how your components look.
  7. It’s live. Anything reading the release (exports, the API, the CLI, agents) gets the new value.

Tip: Want to see how far a change goes before proposing it? Open the colour in Tokenwright: everything that points at it lights up.

Looking for the API, CLI or AI agents? They’re in the developer docs.
